Allow us to introduce you to our new service dog in training, Obi. Obi got a very different start in life than Aiko did. As a puppy he was given to an incarcerated person to raise. He helped to teach empathy and give that person a sense of purpose. He was taught basic commands and was well cared for. At about a year-old, American Vet Dogs began his formal service dog training. However, he was not a good fit for them because of his fear of loud noises. That’s how he came to us. Now he is back in school, earning his formal service dog designation. He looks forward to taking over for Aiko as our service ambassador.
